1. What's included in the Open Source Live! Seminar?

A. Three days of exciting hands-on training, a hard copy of lecture handout of your selected track, soft copies of the presentation slides, lab and lab instructions and software on DVD for all the sessions, wireless access, Open Forum, along with breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Your choice of autographed book by the author will be included for early registrants only for limited time. So hurry and register now!

2 What do I need to attend the Open Source Live Practicum?

A. You need to register for the Open Source Live Practicum, bring your laptop since this is a hands-on learning seminar and show up with the desire to learn. To get maximum benefit from this event, you must have one or more years of prior Java programing background. Yo

3. What's the minimum requirements for my laptop?

A. Your laptop must have at minimum Windows XP Professional laptop with 1 GB of RAM, 1 Ghz CPU, DVD player, Wireless capability and 60 MB of disk space. Any configuration less than this would impact your learning experience. Of course, more RAM, faster CPU and more disk space is better.

4. Do you address my dietary requirements?

A. We certainly do. As part of the registration, you will have an option to select your dietary needs and we'll make sure those needs are met.

5. What's the class size and why are you limiting the number of attendees per class?

A. In order to insure conducive learning environment i.e. personalized attention from the teacher and intimate class interaction between the students and the instructorr, we are limiting the number of students to 30 per class. In addition to incredibly talented instructors, when needed, there will be assistants to help with labs and questions and support the instructor. We are capping the attendees to about 60 or 90 depending on the number of tracks per event.

6. Where is your next planned Open Source Live! Event?

A. We've listed the schedule for our upcoming events in 2007 on our home page. Please check the schedule and if the details are not available then please send us an email and we'll be sure to inform you about the details when they are finalized.

10. What's your refund policy?

A. We are so confident that you'll love our training that we will offer Money Back Guarantee, full registration fee minus the processing and handling cost of $50.00. This guarantee is valid until the lunch break on the first day. If you're not completely satisfied with the training, just see me and tell me why and I will refund your money. It's that simple!

11. How can I cancel my registration?

12. What's your privacy policy?

A. We highly value your privacy and so we do not sell your name to any third parties. We may send you emails informing you of our new upcoming Open Source Live events, about three times a quarter and if you do not want to be in the list, let us know and we'll immediately remove you from our mailing list.

13. Do you give group discounts?

A. For a group of three or more, we do provide discount of additional $50.00 OFF our Super Discounted price when they register togethe before the group discount deadline. Group discounts are handled manually so just email vilas at Open Source Live dot com with subject: group discount along with your name, company name and phone numbers and we'll contact you for details.


14. Can I switch classes after I've registered for a particular class?

A. We advice you against changing class since most class have pre-requisites. But if there are spaces available in the class and with the approval of the instructor, you may change class. Just come and talk to me and we'll do our best to accomodate your request.


15. What is Open Forum?

A. We believe learning happens when there are interactions among the attendees. Open Forum provides an informal environment for the attendees to get together after the session, chill out, discuss technical issues and have some fun over pizza and soda. For example, any attendee can give 15 min presentation on their favorite topics or their current work and get feedback from other developers. We are always receptive to new and interesting ideas and send us an email if you have a neat suggestion.


16. How do I register for the FREE Open Forum?

A. Regestering for the FREE Open Forum is pretty simple. Just click on any of the registration link, enter your email on the first page and then on the second page, just select the Open Forum check boxes and DO NOT select any other boxes and grand total should be $0, then select next and enter your names etc and complete the registration process. You will get an confirmation email.
